The Mason City Mohawk Girls competed at the 4A District Meet in Cedar Falls on Friday, May 9. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Hayley Sheahan, Melanie Carroll, Brooke Stecker, and Lauren Kundert automatically qualified for the State Meet with a 2nd place showing in a season's best time of 1:07.25. Kundert also qualified with her 2nd place (or was it FIRST PLACE!) showing in the 100m hurdles in 15.07. Julia Motz picked up a pair of 3rd place finishes and state qualifying at-large berths in the 100m and 200m dash with times of 12.56 and 26.81, respectively. The girls will run at the State Meet which begins Thursday, May 15 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
